Brussels

Being the next city after just visiting Amsterdam is no easy task. It’s hard to beat Amsterdam, and I don’t think that it did, but it was a great runner up. We arrived late Monday night and woke early Tuesday and ventured into the center of town. We were suppose to go on this bike tour but no one showed, so we wandered about for a few hours. There were a lot of monuments and capital looking buildings which we had no idea as to why they were there. We tested out some of the waffles as well as some beer. Ended up eating dinner right in Grand Place which is quite the spot. Called it early in hopes to make it to the bike tour again the following morning. Awake Wednesday and seven minutes past the scheduled meeting time, our tour guide, Cesear, shows up in the middle of Grand Place. The next 4 hours made the trip to Brussels. So much of the experience of where you go and what you see is influenced by the people around you. This guy was the man. Our time was filled with many talks ranging from business to girls to beer. We saw the city through a whole new perspective (and being on a bike v. walking was also quite nice). By the end of the tour it was decided that bro and I will be opening our own bike tour. It really is the lifestyle that comes along with your job, and if you’re not having fun along the way, you’re missing out. It was very easy to envy the kind of life Cesear was living, yet he had not a dollar to show for it (or shall I say Euro). It’s this kind of motivation that I need to keep in mind. If you’re ever in Brussels- brusselsbiketours.com ..it will make your trip. After the tour we hopped on the subway to check out the Atomium. Such a strange structure. Then bought a nice box of chocolate for the coming days and made our way to the train station, not before stopping at one last bar (recommended by Cesear of course). We didn’t get around to tasting all 300 beers on the menu, but we had our fair share. The 2 hour train trek back to London seemed to fly by, and we were back at bro’s college before we knew it.. well, again, not before making a stop at North Arms (pub) to check in on the crew there. Hey, when in Europe right..

Tour guide- Ceasar was the man.
