Being Thankful

20091127_thanksgivingYesterday I went out in the early afternoon for a run around the block before family got to our house. It was such a nice day that I couldn’t resist. I did my normal 3 mile loop, enjoying every bit of it on my own listening to my music and enjoying the beauty of a day that it was. But what I really started to enjoy was seeing families out in their yards and walking on the sidewalk. Cousins throwing the football around, grandparents pulling their grandchildren in a wagon, Dads tossing the baseball with their little boy.. you get the picture. I had a bit of “I’m thankful for..” theme going on during my run, and I began to appreciate people being able to enjoy these moments with their families. I couldn’t have been more thankful myself, as I ended my run back at home and went inside, being met Oakley (featured above) wagging his tail faster than ever, my mom putting the finishing touches on our multiple dish meal, and my dad finally finding the lights in the closet to put up above the kitchen. Home is home, where ever you’re at, and there’s nothing like it. There’s a lot to be thankful for..
