Sustainable Morristown (to be cont.)
It’s great to be able to become involved in a community. It’s one thing, of course, to live somewhere, but it’s another to feel apart of what is going on in the around you. I am starting to head towards the latter, although not quite there yet. Moving back to Morristown has had a lot of perks for me, one of which is being able to stay in touch and work with the sustainablity movement that has been growing in town. Tonight, I attended a meeting with the Morristown Partnership and the ISE of FDU at the 14 Maple offices (LEED certifed building, 2 blocks from my new apartment). I’ve now been seeing the same faces appear at many events and meetings for the past 8 months or so. It is during this time that I have been able to truly build relationships with many of these people, while others are just starting. My ultimate goal is to make a documentary-form film capturing all that is going on in Morristown related to sustainability, from an individual to a business to township level.. really capturing what’s in it for everyone I believe it is through these strong relationships that I am building that such a film would be possible to create. Slow steps, yes. But in the end, it may all come to a nice conclusion.
